Project 2: Calendar-Poster
Brief
Examine how an abstract idea can be interpreted and represented visually, offering clarity, embedded meaning, and understanding to the viewer. Push beyond the literal translation to use metaphors and storytelling for their design. Metaphors enliven expression and make it more poetic and appealing, but the symbolic connection is how the human brain understands anything abstract.
Goal
Translate your experience with the “80th Birthday Party” video into visual form. In your voice, explore multiple design elements, including typography and diverse processes: Drawing, photography, xerography, abstraction, typography, collage, textures, sculpture, and different materials: paper, fabric, vellum, cardboard, metal, wood, and foil.
